| | | The Practice was formed in February 1985. Donald Clark and John Farrell, the founding partners, both had extensive commercial and industrial experience in previous practices. The establishment and growth of the partnership has brought together a broad range of expertise in the planning, design and development of projects. There are now 8 partners and a staff of around 30 operating from offices in London and Leeds.
The Practice received its first civic trust commendation in 1987 for the design of offices in Francis Grove, Wimbledon and has subsequently won a number of local, regional and national design awards including the Green Gown Award in 2006, a York Design Award in 2008 and a Hull Civic Trust award and Leeds Architecture Award in 2009.
In May 2005 the partnership converted to a Limited Liability Partnership with all existing partners, staff, clients and projects transferring seamlessly.

| | | | Based in Leeds and London, Farrell & Clark have a reputation for delivering quality architecture in the public and commercial sectors.
Our aim is to exceed our Clients’ expectations with buildings which are reliable, effective, sustainable and creative.
Delivering complex campus projects at many Universities, we are used to working with multi faceted Client organisation structures, alongside difficult procurement and funding streams and within busy live environments.
Delivering unique retail opportunities in sensitive, rural or historic settings, we are experienced in exploiting difficult sites, working with planning, transport and environmental specialists to achieve consents through consultation with special interest groups, the planning authorities and their specialists.
All projects are carried out under the control and with the personal involvement of a partner in keeping with our philosophy of delivering a quality service at all levels.
Our track record, delivering projects on programme and to budget includes examples up to £24m. Projects range from listed building alterations and redevelopments to urban intervention and individual buildings across many sectors.
In keeping with its philosophy of quality architecture, the Practice is both BS EN ISO: 9001 and 14001 accredited, Construction Line and CHAS registered.

| | | Quality is at the heart of our service and design approach. Experienced and talented architects supported by interior designers, technologists and IT support working as a team striving to delivery strong projects meeting time, cost and aspirational targets.
A considered and where appropriate, innovative approach to design. An appreciation of context, the environment and practical challenges of a project underpin our design strategy. We pride ourselves on being able to create solutions which meet our clients aspirations, whilst contributing positively to our built environment.
We encourage the development of strong relationships with clients, other designers and contractors, developing a team approach to delivery, to achieve the best outcome possible. Working within a team context we have strong and experienced leaders who help guide each project through to delivery.
Contributing in a sustainable way to our towns and cities through encouraging appropriate development, with buildings where the design approach is integral to minimising CO2 emissions and is supported by a deep technical knowledge delivering responsibly constructed projects.
Through appropriate training and development we strive to develop our knowledge base and constantly aim to improve our team skills and approach.
